Corryong - Day Two

Tuesday morning, 6th April, we woke to another beautiful morning. We had a relaxed breakfast and then I walked to the town lookout. It was a steep walk but I am deliberately trying to build my fitness for some future tough walks in the Flinders Ranges. There is a lot of smoke around at the moment because of controlled burning. It is a necessary evil so that we don’t have the terrible bushfire results brought about by the ‘Greenies’ but it plays havoc with the views. So I am borrowing from my photos of two years ago to show you the beautiful valley that Corryong is situated in.
I met up with Linda, Jan & Ross in town. Whilst there Jan’s friend, Louise, arrived. She is from Sydney and she has been very keen to get away and experience some country atmosphere. So we had a coffee and caught up a little bit. We then returned to camp and made a plan for what we would do for the next couple of days. Then there was time to do a bit on the blog which became very painful because of internet issues. There was also time to read my book.
Louise got set up for camping with her friend Quentin. Another relaxed afternoon. We went out for a great Chinese feed at the Bowling Club. Another good day.
