Lake Hume
Monday the 12th of April we left Corryong. Sad to leave but with glad hearts if that makes sense. We had such a good time. At least we were not having to end our trip straight away. We still had nearly two weeks to go. We were on our way to Lake Hume to stay for the night. It was amazing how many vans were on the road coming from Corryong like us. We stopped at Tallangatta for coffee which was 80km from Corryong. It was incredible how many vans had stopped off at Tallangatta.
Tallangatta is a nice little town which had to move from its original location in 1956 when the town became subject to flooding due to damming. We had a coffee and a look around town and then moved on.
We arrived about lunch time at Lake Hume. It was a great decision to stop here for the night because it was such a beautiful place. It was like we had to keep propping up our jaws which were always dropping because of the views. I will just let the photos and videos speak for themselves.
This is a great spot for freshwater fisherman. The boat ramp is so wide. A guy drove down past our camp to the waters edge and launched his canoe to go fishing. He must have finished work and raced there. He was only out for about an hour. What a way to destress after work.
This was a free camp with modern clean toilets. It is amazing how some of the best spots are free. We had a very nice afternoon taking a walk and taking in the views.
