Three Weeks Away - Short But Sweet
Here we are on the eve of another trip. It is Good Friday, 2nd April 2021. Tomorrow we head off for just a short trip this time. We are on the road for three weeks which begins with the Man From Snowy River Bush Festival (MFSRBF) at Corryong, which is on the Upper Murray River in Victoria.
The Festival got postponed last year due to covid. Rather than seek a refund we rolled the tickets over for next year. The idea was to support Corryong. It had just been through a bad fire season and they were really crushed by the postponement. So it was good to leave the funds with them and give them the confidence that they could continue on in the future. At this stage we are still hoping nothing happens, covid wise, at the last minute to cause another postponement. That would really suck!!!!!

The Festival celebrates the legend of the Man From Snowy River, but really it is about the snowy country bushmen and their skills. Some of the events at the Festival exhibits those skills and it is very cool. There is also some great country music. It begins on the 8th of April but camping on the golf course begins on the Monday before for no extra charge. So the idea is to go down ahead of time to have a look around and relax. We actually went to the 2019 MSRBF and it was great. We had to make an early departure unfortunately which enticed us to come back again to see it all.
Linda’s sister and brother-n-law, Jan & Ross are joining us, as well as Jan’s friend Louise and her friend. After the Festival we will be taking a further two weeks to travel along the Murray River, winding up at Deniliquin and Hay.
Linda and I have got away a couple of times since covid began and I am not complaining but you can bet I am champing at the bit to go again. So we are looking forward to a fun, sometimes exciting, and also relaxing three weeks enjoying the Upper Murray River and beyond. What a great country we live in.
Speak to you more from the road.
